Parents Forum
Parents and carers play a vital part in supporting the staff and governors to make sure that the services and activities at the Castle Centre & Nursery school are of a high standard and meet children's and their families needs. Our Parent's Group is one of the ways that parents can get together, share ideas, provide feedback on the quality of the Centre's work and help to improve and develop the Centre. The Parent's Group meets once a term at the Centre and a creche can be provided (if we have at least a weeks notice). The group is open to any mum, dad or carer as long as they are registered with the Castle Centre and live in our area (Portobello, Agbrigg, Sandal, Heath Common) The next meeting is on September 8th 2010 at 9.30am.
Parent Representatives & Parent Governors
Other ways that parents can support Centre development is through becoming a Parent Representative or Parent Governor, we have parent representatives in the nursery school and for the children's centre groups. If you are interested in learning more about these, please speak to a member of staff about it and they will point you in the right direction or you can ask to see the Head of Centre (Kathy) or Deputy Head (Jo). We particularly welcome dads contributions as their views tend not to be as well represented as mums. The Centre has an allocation of four Parent Governors who are part of the Governing Body, this is an important role and Governors have to be very commited to the management & leadership of the centre & school. Centre Policies
The Centre places great importance upon ensuring high standards in all areas of its work. To ensure that everyone understands and works towards high standards the Centre has a number of Policies. These policies set out the way in which the services are delivered and what service users can expect. All the policies are available for centre users to read comment on and challenge if they see a need to. Copies of all the Policies are available on request.
Parent and Toddler Group - Wednesday mornings 9.00am to 11.00am This Wednesday morning group is very popular and gives children,mums, dads, grandparents and carers an opportunity to play and socialise in a very well equipped and resourced environment.
The Parent and Toddler group takes place in the Sandal Building's Community room.
