Parents / Carers
The Centre actively encourages the involvement of parents / carers, and staff strives to ensure that everyone who uses the Centre feels welcome, valued and respected. The Head of Centre and staff team welcome the views of parents and will always make time available to listen and discuss any issues/ ideas.
Parent Representatives
Parent Representatives have an important role to play in the Centre and are appointed to seek the views of parents and ensure that they are heard. They are also there to become involved in the development of the Centre and to take part in and help to organise events and activities. The Centre is always seeking parents who would like to take on this role, both in the Nursery and in parent & toddler groups. The Governing Body of the Centre has 4 parent governors.
Centre Policies
The Centre places great importance upon ensuring high standards in all areas of its work. To ensure that everyone understands and works towards high standards the Centre has a number of Policies. These policies set out the way in which the services are delivered and what service users can expect. All the policies are available for centre users to read comment on and challenge if they see a need to. Copies of all the Policies are available on request.
Weigh and Play/ Baby Clinic - Tuesday afternoons 1.30pm to 3.30pm The Centre runs a Well Baby Clinic which is also set up for parents to stay and play with their children, This is staffed by local Health Visitors and a Family Worker.
Parent and Toddler Group - Wednesday mornings 9.00am to 11.00am This Wednesday morning group is very popular and gives children,mums, dads, grandparents and carers an opportunity to play and socialise in a very well equipped and resourced environment.
Both the Clinic and parent and Toddler group take place in the Sandal Building's Community room.
Term Dates for Year 2007.
Spring Term - Nursery opens for new starters on Tuesday 9th January and the rest of the children on Wednesday 10th January 2007. It closes for half term on Friday 16th February. It will re-open on Monday 26th February and close for Easter on Thursday 29th March.
Summer Term - Nursery opens on Monday 16th April for new starters and the rest of the children on Tuesday 17th April 2007. It closes for half term on Friday 25th May. It will re-open on Monday 11th June and close for the summer holidays on Thursday 26th July.
Inset Days / Other Holidays - The Nursery will also be closed on the following dates:
Monday 4th September 2006, Friday 20th October 2006, Monday 8th January 2007, Friday 30th March 2007 and Friday 27th July 2007.
