Parents / Carers
The Centre actively encourages the involvement of parents / carers, and staff strives to ensure that everyone who uses the Centre feels welcome, valued and respected. The Head of Centre and staff team welcome the views of parents and will always make time available to listen and discuss any issues/ ideas.
Parent Representatives
Parent Representatives have an important role to play in the Centre and are appointed to seek the views of parents and ensure that they are heard. They are also there to become involved in the development of the Centre and to take part in and help to organise events and activities. The Centre is always seeking parents who would like to take on this role, both in the Nursery and in parent & toddler groups. The Governing Body of the Centre has 4 parent governors.
Centre Policies
The Centre places great importance upon ensuring high standards in all areas of its work. To ensure that everyone understands and works towards high standards the Centre has a number of Policies. These policies set out the way in which the services are delivered and what service users can expect. All the policies are available for centre users to read comment on and challenge if they see a need to. Copies of all the Policies are available on request.
Parent and Toddler Group - Wednesday mornings 9.00am to 11.00am This Wednesday morning group is very popular and gives children,mums, dads, grandparents and carers an opportunity to play and socialise in a very well equipped and resourced environment.
The Parent and Toddler group takes place in the Sandal Building's Community room.
School Calendar 2009/2010
Autumn Term - Nursery opens for new starters on Tuesday 8th September and the rest of the children on Wednesday 9th September 2009. It closes for half term on Friday 23rd October. It will re-open on Monday 2nd November and close for Christmas on Friday 18th December. There are 2 INSET Days on Thursday 26th November and Friday 27th November therefore the nursery will be closed on these days.
Spring Term - Nursery opens for new starters on Monday 4th January and the rest of the children on Tuesday 5th January 2010. It closes for half term on Friday 12th February. It will re-open on Monday 22nd February and close for Easter on Thursday 1st April 2010.
Summer Term - Nursery opens for new starters on Monday 19th April and the rest of the children on Tuesday 20st April. It is closed on Monday 3rd May for May Day. It closes for the spring bank holiday on Friday 28th May and re-opens on Monday 7th June. End of term is Tuesday 27th July. Thursday 1st July and Friday 2nd July are INSET Days and therefore the nursery will be closed on these days.
A reminder of dates of INSET days- Thursday 26th and Friday 27th November 2009 and Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd July 2010.
